So I heard this song on the radio the other day driving home. I've heard it before but the lyrics really intrigued me this time and I felt like writing about it. In the chorus Keith says "I'll earn your trust making memories of us". Wow! That just struck me this time because it is so true. Isn't it the people we have memories with that we trust the most. When I date guys I hate it because there's no memories there and making memories can be harder than you think. People are so busy and life never seems to stop. Even people we already have memories with we have a hard time keeping up with. Making memories can be quite the task but it's worth it. The people who you're worth it to take the time to make memories with you; another reason they'd earn your trust. I love how the lyrics say "I'm gonna love you like nobody loves you". That just says you're worth it! You're worth it and I'm gonna make the time to make the memories to earn your trust. So romantic. When he talks about learning from your ma and pa, stealing your attention, and making your world better isn't he talking about memories being made? A memory of dinner with the family, or the cute things he does to get you to laugh and notice him, and the way you look back on so many memories that made your world better than it's ever been. You can follow the rainbow to the ends of the earth and even find the pot of gold. Because when you're in love and making those memories that will build trust and last a lifetime, you live in a world of magic. And when you've been stretched to the limits they're there. They are the one you have the memories with; a bank filled with good memories and love. They are the one to meet you in the life after this with that warm, wet kiss. So I'm gonna love you, like nobody loves you. And I'll win your trust making memories of us....
