A wise man once said, it's not dying that we're afraid of; it's being forgotten. How are we living our lives, not to be forgotten? Sometimes it feels good, to be that shadow walking in the rain. No one has to consciously see you, or remember you. Being alone, is easier. The gloomy life, spent working, doing important things, and taking care of your own well being can be so greatly romanticised. Busy city life can seem to fulfill social needs, yet don't require work or attention in more than a few relationships. Some might like the sound of a rigorous work life that improves the world, and then enjoying simplicity, elegance, and ease at home. But if you've thought of an option such as this, who are these people really? What's underneath that no one sees, and they will deny is ever there? Why are they living this life? Perhaps a few of them were alone, or rather felt alone, for so long that in a defense they chose to be alone. For often when we choose something, even something we don't really want, we feel more in control. And isn't that one of life's great challenges; feeling, or mastering our own control. Don't forget childhood dreams. Just don't. Because often who we really are, can be the child we've forgotten. Don't be blinded by the walls your trials have built. Remember who you were, because although you've become stronger there's a good chance that hopeful child still lives inside you.
